Today I’m thankful for the laughter in my life. These two people crack me up daily. I’m so thankful I get to laugh my way through life with them!
She was going for painting tape super hero and he was going for let’s interrupt this photo shoot.
For real I don’t even try to keep a strait face any more. Sky thought I was laughing in delight at her poses…it wasn’t until I showed her the pics that she realized what was really going on. She doesn’t always find him as funny as I do.
Only two of about 20 pics she insist I take of her posing all kinds of different ways.
Happy Friday! Really the only reason I look forward to Friday’s so much, and in turn the weekends, is to spend time with my loves. I just want more time, because time goes way too fast. I LOVE my job, so it’s never really about wanting to get the heck out of work for a few days.
Ruthie’s tongue!
I’m so lucky that I’m off at 1:45, Sky’s out of school at 2:15 and that leaves us a few hours every afternoon to hang out, like the good old days when her and I were home together all the time. We miss daddy though, lets be clear about that.
Wind Blown!
It has been pretty sunny and temps are rising, so Sky, Ruthie and I headed out to the beach one day after school, and while Sky was super excited about a picnic on the beach (girl is all about picnics all the time!) she was also pretty vocal about how unfair it was that we were having fun without Daddy, who was still stuck at work. “I miss Daddy, I wish Daddy were here”…on repeat. Daddies girl!
We must always scream when a train goes past!
No worries Sky, the sun is sticking around for a few more days, and it’s going to get even hotter, so we can hit that beach with Daddy over the weekend! We were pretty lazy lounging on a blanket, reading magazines and snacking. There’s more to explore though, so we totally need to go back!
So many yummy recipes, not enough time to cool them all, but I’m going to give it my best shot!
Love, love, love everything about hanging with my girls in the sun! Looking forward to enjoying a sunny, warm weekend!
It’s almost summer time! Can’t wait to fill my days hanging with my girls!
And this is why I take 15+ pics just to get one good one.
Seriously I see this look 5,000 times a day, at least. It’s the you don’t know what your talking about/stop talking to me/you are ridiculous look.
In true, I’m a 6 year old and change my mind every few seconds fashion, 2 seconds later this is the look we get.
When we go for family walks in the woods we let Sky pick our path, Mark told her this one ended in a dead end, but she insisted on taking it anyway, and she really doesn’t like being wrong, or maybe she doesn’t like it when Mommy & Daddy are right. Whatever, that’s the reason behind the first look.
Love this little munchkin so much, even with her eye rolling and exasperated looks.
Today I’m thankful that we live close to a park that offers us miles and miles of bike riding. I love any activity that the three of us can do together like running (not so much now, but I loved our family runs when Sky was younger), yoga, hiking, biking.
Living down the street from the park makes it pretty easy to head down there right after work and get some good bike time in.
I try to get pictures and videos of our rides…Sky loves watching herself ride her bike in the videos. It’s like she’s amazed she’s able to do it. It’s not easy though. I’m not the most confident one-handed rider, and I for sure don’t want to drop my phone, it cost more than my bike! But, I want those memories documented. One of us needs a Go Pro for the handlebars or something!
Anyway, I’m thankful to have this time with my two favorite people, and see Sky practice and practice at something and get so excited when she takes off on her own, or doesn’t fall over when she stops. She’s setting mileage goals for our rides and is up to 6.5 miles now! Go go girl!
This summer is going down as the summer of family bike rides! Sky has gotten so much better on her bike and is taking on longer more challenging rides every time we go out.
It’s sort of crazy to me that she’s on a bmx bike with no gears yet is riding right there along with Mark and I like a champ.
Sky’s first serious trail ride, was very seep downhill for a good mile. She did great. Coming back up was another story, but once she has a bike with gears she will power up those hills no problem.
The other night at the park she made it up the steepest, paved, hill the park has. She had to work for it (way harder work than it was for Mark and I with our gears) but she was determined and she made it!
Old train tunnel at the bottom of the hill, and we found a small beach that we didn’t even know was there.
So proud of her! I’m seriously loving our family bike rides. I’m already trying to figure out our schedule once school starts so we can fit in homework, dance, swimming, and bike rides. Wow…that makes me tired just typing it. But, we will make it happen!
