Today I’m thankful for the beginning of Family Holiday Traditions!

I love Thanksgiving weekend so much. The family time, the food, the football! But my favorite thing about Thanksgiving weekend is getting our outdoor Christmas tree!
We have a patio right outside our picture window and it just begs for a big Christmas tree! We have made it a tradition to head down to Sprouffske Trees in Rainier WA and get a live Noble Fir for the patio. We have so much fun walking through the field and picking this tree, and that tree, and going back and forth before we (by we I mean Sky, she has very firm opinions on our tree) settle on the perfect one.
That’s when the work starts. It’s not easy sawing a tree down by hand, not that I’d know because I’ve never done it, Mark does that part, but I can tell it’s not easy. It’s also not easy getting pictures of Sky and/or Mark under the tree sawing it, but I do my best. 🙂
I’m so thankful we have the space outside to accommodate a live tree (the inside tree is a small fake table top tree). It gives Team Yeatman an opportunity to go on a tree hunting adventure, and then spend the rest of the day setting it up and decorating. It’s the perfect way to get in the Christmas Spirit! I love how excited Sky gets about turning the tree on every night, and I love sitting and gazing at it with a glass of wine or warm tea in hand (ok let’s be honest, it’s always wine).
Super thankful we get to kick off the Holiday Season with a fun family tradition, and I’m looking forward to the rest of our traditions throughout the Holidays.

What are you thankful for today?
