Today I’m thankful for time!

With school starting time has changed so much. I don’t have as much time with Sky as I’m used to. She doesn’t have as much time with me, or as many cuddles, as she’s used to.

So we are making the most of the time together that we do have. Which, it still more than some get with kiddos during the day. She’s out of school at 2:15, so I still have a good chunk of every afternoon with her (even if she is over tired and a tad cranky as a result). We spend a lot of time doing what she wants to do…”Mommy, I just want to be home, with you, cuddling. I miss you.”

It’s an adjustment getting used to this new time of ours…getting used to the school controlling our time during the week. Getting used to having so much extra kiddo free time and figuring out how to make the best use of that time. It’s harder than I thought it would be, and find myself frustrated when I didn’t get a fraction of the stuff done that I wanted to.

Finally today I feel like I have the beginnings of a handle on things. A handle on Sky’s time, on my time, and on our time together…my time with together with Sky, and our time as a family. Any chance we get to sneak in a walk at the park, or cuddles, or sitting outside on the deck reading or talking…well that it time very well spent indeed!
